The Magic Mike Penis Pump Scene

Whether you loved it or hated it, Steven Soderbergh's male stripper movie "Magic Mike", starring Matthew McConaughey, Channing Tatum and Alex Pettyfer has some pretty hot scenes and has been making women giddy all over. One of the most humorous parts of the movie, however, may have been missed by many in the audience. 


When asked about the penis pump scene, many people say they did not recall it. However, there most definitely was and it was done in a very clever manner. In the Magic Mike movie, when the guys are talking in their dressing room (which is a converted kitchen with stainless steel shelves) a camera is set on one side of the slide through shelves while filming the guys through the other side. 


On the left side of the screen there is a close up of a clear cylinder (penis pump) and as they are talking there is a pumping sound that begins and you see a penis begin to fill it and get longer and longer. Later, you see why Joe Manganiello's character is called "Big Dick Richie" from using it.


Often when audience members see it, they take a few seconds to understand what the clear cylinder is and what is getting pumped into it. However, the massive schlong moving slowly up the pump with pumping and moaning from Big Dick Richie gets equally big laughs for those that catch what is going on. 


Being that we specialize in healthy, nontoxic sex toys, it was something our female staff members began to chuckle about before most people knew what was so funny. However, you can still see some audience members looking around at those who are laughing with these quizzical expressions saying “What did I miss?”
